House in Whitby, YO22 4DW
Haglathe House is a spacious stone terraced Grade II listed building constructed in 1760. It is next door to the authentic Fortune kipper smoking shop and used to be owned by the Fortune family. The late Bill Fortune told us that they used to smoke fish in the fire on the ground floor of the cottage.
Haglathe House is located in one of the most attractive old streets of Whitby, one minute from the beach, 199 steps leading up to Whitby Abbey, shops, pubs and the harbour. It is tastefully furnished to a high standard and retains some nice old features like an open fireplace in an original Yorkshire Range on the first-floor living room. From the second floor window, across the rooftops, you have views of the sea all the way to Sandsend.
Currently undergoing refurbishment including new kitchen and total internal redecoration. Available from mid-April 2013.
Well-behaved dogs welcome. No Smoking.
